September 24, 2024 – 6:00 PM Potluck/Meeting                                              Program: Program: Introduction Game, Interactive brainstorm session sparked by MO State Meeting

October 14, 2024 – Zoom Board Meeting = Time and Zoom address will be sent via email. All members are invited to join.

October 22, 2024 – 6:30 PM Social Time/7:00 PM Meeting                                             Program: Bridget McCandless, Independence City Council Member-at-Large, will speak about updates on the city’s activities and future plans.

November 19, 2024 – 6:30 PM Social Time/7:00 PM Meeting                                        Program: Emily Valverde, Director of Volunteer Relations, Hillcrest Transitional Housing, will help explore options for a future Service in Action Opportunity.

December 14, 2024 – AAUW Independence Service- in-Action Opportunity –Mother’s Refuge, 14400 E. 42nd Street, Independence, MO 64055. Time: TBD. AAUW Members will assist MOther’s refuge with their Holiday Party. Following, members will meet at a local restaurant (TBD) to celebrate in the branch tradition.

January 14, 2025 – AAUW Board Meeting, 6 p.m. FUMC Fellowship Hall = bring a sack dinner, if desired.

January 28, 2025 – 6:30 PM Social Time/7:00 PM Meeting – Program:  A representative from the Independence School District will speak on the ISD Academy programs, focusing on S.T.E.M. 

February 25, 2025 – 6:30 PM Social Time/7:00 PM Meeting – Program: A Spokesperson from Englewood Arts will present a program on the newly established and refurbished Englewood Arts, including the planned “overlay district” with options of tiny homes in backyards and cluster cottages in vacant lot areas.

March 8, 2025 – Service-in-Action Opportunity – AAUW Independence will co-sponsor a one-day event celebrating International Women’s Day with First United Methodist Church. The day represents the blending of cultures and nationalities of the Kansas City Metro Area. AAUW will make one of the presentations. Time: TBA

March 24, 2025 – Zoom Board Meeting – Time and Zoom address will be sent via email. All members are invited to join.

April 22, 2025 – 6:30 PM Social Time/7:00 PM Meeting                                                   Program:  Introduction of 2025 Scholarship Winner and Presentation of the Woman of Achievement Award.

No May Meeting.

June 7, 2025 – Independence Branch Annual Meeting – Luncheon, Cafe Verona, 206 W Lexington Avenue, Independence MO 64050. Time: 3-5 pm. Gather to celebrate a successful year of AAUW and enjoy Cafe Verona refreshments. Special presentation by Cindy McClain: Happenings in our own backyard – The Independence Square. Installation of New Officers.

June 10, 2025 – AAUW Board Meeting 6 p.m., FUMC Fellowship Hall, 6 pm. Bring a sack dinner, if desired.
